Jane Pollak on Skirted Roundtable

Join us this week when we talk business with Jane Pollak, author of “Soul Proprietor:  101 Lessons From a Lifestyle Entrepreneur.”  Jane’s book is divided into lessons and she is quite inspiring to talk to.   She is full of great ideas and she certainly gave us three plenty of food for thought.

Jane got her start years ago making these eggs – I’m sure you remember them!  She became so well known for her eggs, she was invited to the White House to take place in the Easter Egg Roll.   From her experiences as an entrepreneur, Jane started another business – teaching others how to do the same thing.

Her new book is available HERE.  On the Skirted Roundtable website we are giving away her book plus Jane is giving away five free lessons!  So be sure to listen and enter on the Skirted Roundtable – HERE.

  2. I've been thinking about what I want to do with my life and listening to TSKT this week definitely makes me want to put all of that into motion. I'm going to have to pick up her book. As usual, love what you ladies do. Thanks a million!

Oh, and the last project is inspiration for a living room I'm helping with. I'm trying to talk her into a linen slipped sofa!

  3. I see the same pattern - "The Wedding Ring" quilt that my Mother made for me on one of the eggs...and I am sure that I could benefit from one of Jane's lessons.
My daily mantra is to make one mistake, because that is the best way to learn!
Off to the skirted roundtable (ha and I am sporting a skirt!)

  4. thank you for bringing such talent to the skirted round table. I will find a quiet moment to listen to her interview.
...the white house eggs could use her help, very dull wooden names with the president and vice president signature. While dusting my bookshelves i just found one old green one given to my son during the egg hunt many years ago, while we were living in DC...

  6. I listen to your pod casts all the time. They are all wonderful, but this one really useful. I loved what Jane had to say about owning your own business. Keep the fabulous variety of interviews coming!

  11. Wanina Petlock has helped manyProbioslim Review/ people achieve their best life with specialized brainwave entrainment sessions that give you strength in areas ranging from Addiction, to Weight Loss, to hearing your Spirit Guide. You've diligently followed my clean-plate rule of lean protein, leafy green veggies, high-fiber starches, and some good fat. You've done an IGG test to determine your food sensitivities. You even hired a coach to hold you accountable for everything you're writing in your food journal. And yet you curse the scales every morning as your number stagnates for the past three weeks.Seemingly trivial things can highjack your success. Here are five culprits that could stand in your way of your fast fat loss goals.

  12. This too is a red pigment Hydrolift found in watermelons and tomatoes and other red colored fruits and vegetables. All the fruits and vegetables containing beta carotene and lycopene can be made part of an antioxidant diet to cushion the cellular damage caused by free radicals.Aids in the balancing of blood sugar levels.Extraction of excess acidity from the cells of the body, particularly brain cells. It will aid in preventing the muscles from cramping.
It is needed in order to make the structure of the bones firm. Can be especially useful for those suffering from asthma and cystic fibrosis as it clears the lungs of mucus plugs and sticky phlegm.Used for the absorption of food particles through the intestinal tract.

Then, keep the right company. Look for support groups or even online community that has similar goals as you. It would be easier to change your lifestyle if there are other people who may help you or who can serve as your models or inspiration. All of these foods are a staple in my kitchen. They are clean foods, and all contribute to giving me and you a better body.Fresh Spinach. Spinach is the power green. Compared to ice burg lettuce, romaine, and even arugula spinach is hands down the best option for making great salads. Most "lettuces" are high in water content and low in nutrient content. But not spinach, it is packed with vitamins and minerals: Vitamin K, Vitamin A, folate, zinc fiber and more. It even has protein. The bottom line... stop ignoring spinach.

Cottage Cheese. Cottage cheese often gets the shaft when it comes to the cheeses but it's the best! Just one cup has 28 grams of protein! That is huge, plus it's low in carbs which helps if you're trying to lean out a bit. Cottage cheese is also a great source of Vitamin B12, Selenium, and Riboflavin (antioxidant). Use it in place of Ricotta, or just mix some of your favorite fruit with it.Old Fashioned Steel Oats. All fitness junkies love whole grains. Oatmeal is a wonderful complex carbohydrate. It has a low Glycemic Index which means you're blood sugar won't spike the way it would with a bagel and your body won't hoard fat either. Oats have 5 grams of protein, around 27 grams of good for you carbs and taste great! I even use oatmeal in place of flour when making pizza and breads!
