A few months ago I was thrilled beyond words when House Beautiful named Cote de Texas as the “go-to blog” to read all about what they called “The Ruralists” design trend. Imagine being in the same company as Axel Vervoordt and Bobby McAlpine. It was enough to make my head swell about two sizes bigger! The buzzwords House Beautiful used to describe this design style are: handmade, pure, sophisticated, global country and miles of linen. Well, I do want to one day wrap myself up in miles and miles of pure linen – I can’t imagine anything better.
After the House Beautiful article, Jaime Rogers who runs the online marketplace DOXA Design Group, took note of the Ruralists designation. DOXA is a one stop shop for online purchasing of anything home decor related. What sets DOXA apart from other online sites is how the merchandise is presented. In order to simplify the process, DOXA has divided its goods into design categories. For instance, there are the other House Beautiful Trends categorized – such as The Glams, and The New Victorians. And there are Collections such as: Positano, Hollywood, Santa Barbara, and Upper East Side. Other sections are divided by color. Each section is filled with the merchandise that goes with that particular style. If you are looking to decorate a room in a “Glam” style – DOXA has gathered all the chairs, sofas, tables, mirrors, lamps, etc. that fit that particular style. I love to go to DOXA when I am working on a new design project and see what’s available under a certain style or color theme – it makes my job so much easier to have it all already organized! Here are a few of my favorite items from the new Ruralist Trend Collection on DOXA.
The Monarch Sofa Bench
Since the Ruralist Trend group is so new to DOXA, and in order to spread the word, DOXA is generously offering Cote de Texas readers a giveaway! In addition, 3 Fine Grains is also contributing to the giveaway. 3 Fine Grains is a wonderful Etsy shop owned by Kymberley Fraser that specializes in grain sack pillows, furniture and other goodies. DOXA will soon be carrying some of Kym’s merchandise in the Ruralist Collection. In order to see 3 Fine Grains merchandise, go HERE.
3 Fine Grains: offers a wonderful wing chair made with an original grain sack.
1. The Rules:
In order to enter the giveaway, simply go to DOXA Design Group HERE, pick out one item you would like for your own. Then, come back to this comment section at Cote de Texas and let me know which item you picked! It’s that simple. I’ll pick two winners, randomly.
An example of the grain sack pillow to be on the giveaway.
2. The Giveaways:
There will be a first and second place winner.
The first place winner will receive a choice between an Antique Grain Sack or an Antique Grain Sack Pillow ($400 Value) and a $250 DOXA Home Gift Certificate.
The Second Place winner will receive a $100 DOXA Home Gift Certificate.
DOXA also offers interior design services. Check the web site for more information.
The contest closes at midnight this Wednesday, so hurry up and go to DOXA Design Group HERE, pick out your item, and leave me the comment. Good luck to everyone!!!!!

ReplyDeleteMy fave is the bruges chair - perfect for my breakfast room where I'm trying to purchase 6 mismatched chairs all with special flair!
ReplyDeleteI love it when your blog gets the attention it deserves! Makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteAll of their pieces are lovely, but for myself, I'd choose the Carved Panel Chair!

ReplyDeleteHmmm...I think I too am going to be loving DOXA!
ReplyDeleteI am smitten with the Baldwin adjustable floor lamp!!!
Congrats on the HB mention! :)
Thank you for the giveaway! I love the aged black 3-drawer chest!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE 3 Fine Grains, Joni. Her stuff is great, and that wingback reminds me of the ones that Dan Marty had in his LA Showroom. I'm so sad he closed, and we won't be seeing anymore of his vignettes. They were gorgeous! Anyway - please enter me in the giveaway! I went to the DOXA site and WOW! It's like design overload! But now that I'm "almost" finished with the bathroom, I'm moving onward and outward to the pergola and I was particular attached to the grape vine candlabra, and the star lantern. They're the perfect direction for the pergola, and it'd be great to have a gc to help me get them!! :) TY and DOXA and 3Grains for such a wonderful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteDo we have to pick just one? I like the Walker table if I have to pick just one. This is such a great chance. Ooh! I hope I win!

ReplyDeleteLove,Love, Love DOXA. They have such great things. I have especially fallen in love with the lucia tufted chair on casters . ReplyDeleteAs instructed, I went to the DOXA site, and I'm in love with more than one thing as any self respecting magpie would be. ;-) I would be hard-pressed to pick only one item. So I will divide it between furniture and accessories.
I love the Madeira 4-poster bed... what great posts, but I also love the sofa with the carved stretcher. They are both SO handsome! I would have to flip a coin over which I like best. There are other contenders, too.
And I really love the Yardies Iron Sunburst Mirror (that's probably my favorite accessory), but then the Edwardian Lantern is nice (I'm looking for one). That vintage inspired retro sconce is good looking, too. I can easily see that in my house.
I have a zebra rug and an antique bench that could be the twin to the one they are showing covered in zebra. Mine is currently covered in a Liberty of London documentary print.
This is a wonderful company, and I would love to have anything from them. Thanks for the chance to put my name in the drawing!
You're the best, and I like the company you keep...

ReplyDeleteHi Joni,
ReplyDeleteI have to say, that since seeing your re-design of your daughters bedroom, I have loved the iron bed that you used, so I would have to choose the iron bed from their page. It's simple and elegant. I am "trying" to persuade my 14 year old daughter that something like that would be great in her room, she, however, has other ideas, if you can let me know how I might "persuade" her, I'd be grateful.
Angela

Dear Lord! How can I pick just one thing? I adore the classic club chair (a pair please!)but being that I've been searching forever for the perfect chandelier I'd probably pick either the Bead and Tassel Chandelier, the Sea Glass French Chandelier or the Venetian Chandelier.

Love your give-aways! I would love to find a place for the Wood and Iron Clad table. Don't think it would be hard at all. More importantly, the pillow would fit perfectly!
ReplyDeleteSo many great items to choose from! We picked the Distressed Black Armoire.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really Breat Blog! My husband and I downsized recently so the zebra bench would work out perfectly with our dining table, as the adjoining living area has Holstein Pillows and a white sheepskin pillow...Bench has muti uses...can move it to the living area for extra seating, use as a "coffee table" and at the end of a bed. I was in the design biz for 20 years. Now I photograph it and have one good client. I also sell FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY to designers. Will keep reading your blog!

You always have the best giveaways around Joni and everyone seems to know you and your blog, who don’t you know besides me?….lol. I’m in love with DOXA wood and iron clad table, love the mix of textures. Since I live mainly with antiques I always like tossing in a modern piece to keep the antiques from weighing a room down with age. They have some wonderful items and I can’t wait until tonight to have more time to spend browsing. Thank you once again…….
ReplyDeleteWood and iron clad table
Would use the $250 towards the Sutton bookcase, just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing this (new 2 me) resource!

WOW! What a fun give away!!! I love their web site....so much wonderful eye candy. My choice is that carved panel chair..a pair would be perfection!
ReplyDeleteI guess we're all pretty excited about this giveaway! Now I'll be spending more time than I should on another wonderful design site. It is great and having grown up in Santa Barbara, I was tickled to see that part on the site. Joni, you've addicted me to your blog & I'm always sending people to it. I stare @ all the grain sacks for sale & my husband says "just buy one!!", but I never can make up my mind, so now you ask us to choose from DOXA @ I'm freaked! Then I have to remind myself that it's not the actual prize, so RELAX(: Outside of the obvious fct that the zebra bench or rug would work almost anywhere, I think I'll choose the Belgium Linen Slipcovered Daybed...Oh, possibilities!!! Thanks
