Wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving and a SAFE Black Friday!!
We celebrated the holiday at my sister’s house where I snapped these photographs with my I-phone! Totally forgot to take my camera. She decorated the table with 3 tall vases of orange tulips and wooden pilgrims.
And she used her set of Lovefeast velvet pumpkins!! They really looked great on her table. Ben wanted to know why there were pennies in the bottom of the flower vases. BTW, Lovefeast is having a Black Friday 20% off sale HERE.
Elisabeth came home for the holiday. My great-niece Laine has become her shadow at family events. It’s so cute to see Laine discovering that cousins can be wonderful!
I hope your day was as great as ours! We’re just laying around watching football and napping and starting to think about opening the leftovers!! I just hope I brought enough home with me. And now I am wishing I had packed up some dessert too!
Happy Thanksgiving!

May I simply just say what a comfort to uncover someone who truly knows what they're discussing on the net. You actually realize how to bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I was surprised you are not more popular given that you definitely possess the gift.

The best part of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners are the left-overs. Elizabeth is gorgeous and little Laine - oh, such a dolly.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of the holiday and the left-overs.

ReplyDeleteYes tell Ben, I too want to know why there are pennies in the vases? Happy Thanksgiving, Joni.

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to you Joni! The girls are adorable. Ummm...how did you come home without leftover desserts?!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Joni! I hope you had the chance to enjoy time with family and away from the daily grind! How lucky to capture the close adoration Laine has for Elisabeth - they are both darling. I remember many similar shadows in our own family over the years.
ReplyDeleteYour sister put one of my favorite flowers on her table and they looked so lovely in those tall simple vases! I couldn't help but admire the collection of what I think is Imari porcelain in her dining room - they are stunning displayed altogether like that! I also peeked at the room behind the girls - where the walls are so elegantly embellished. Would love to see more of that room if you ever have time and she allowed it!!! :)
Hopefully you got something yummy for dessert....we went out to eat so no leftovers, but I did bake a pumpkin 'surprise' cake (aka pumpkin dump cake - fast and easy)... I need to stop eating that Right. Now.!!
Thanks for sharing these pictures and for your beautiful blog all year!

Happy Thanksgiving, Joni!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got yummy leftovers (but no dessert - what were you thinking?)!
For those asking about the pennies in the vases: Copper in the water retards or prevents the growth of algae in the vase. So the water stays clear (and doesn't smell) longer.

Its such as you learn my mind! You appear to understand a lot approximately this,
ReplyDeletelike you wrote the ebook in it or something. I believe that
you just could do with a few percent to pressure the
message house a bit, but instead of that, that is excellent blog.
A fantastic read. I'll certainly be back.

p.s I've always heard that a penny in the water keeps the tulips upright instead of drooping...not sure if that is true or not.

So far, three explanations for the pennies. Which one is correct, or are all three?
