As you know, if you have been reading this blog for awhile, you are sure to know that one of my favorite pillow sources is BViz. Rebecca Vizard creates her gorgeous pillows by hand in Louisiana, using antique elements and fabrics. Her creations are favorites of interior designers throughout the states and the world.Open any design magazine and there’s a good chance her pillows will be in a story or two. One of my all time favorite blog stories was a house that Suzanne Kasler designed and had published in House Beautiful. Once the house sold, we were able to see what accessories Suzanne had placed for the photoshoot and which ones the owners didn’t keep. In picture after picture, we could see first hand how much BViz’s glorious pillows had truly added to each vignette – and how much the rooms missed the pillows once they were taken away! To read the story, go HERE.For instance – here is the living room – after the owners had Suzanne Kasler remove many of her accessories, and especially without the BViz pillows! Here is the living room with Kasler’s accessories and the BViz pillows on the arm chairs and on the sofa. The velvet pillows with antique metallic embroidery make a beautiful, luxe impression. And – across the room, here is how Kasler decorated the sofa – with a large BViz pillow made from an antique tapestry. Gorgeous!I’ve always loved this Swedish inspired house that was on the cover of House Beautiful. BViz pillows decorated the living room and made a impact.Across the room – another BViz pillow warms up an antique armchair. One of my favorite vignettes of all time – an antique Swedish sofa decorated by Ginger Barber. Mixed with Rose Tarlow fabric on three pillows – a smaller BViz velvet embroidered pillow makes it all sing.I decorated my daughter Elisabeth’s room around three pillows from BViz, the two antique Fortunys and the velvet gold embroidered one on the chaise!Seeing this pillow on her web site makes me want to design another girl’s bedroom around it!Over the years, Becky has branched out and expanded her product line. She now makes Christmas ornaments. And Fortuny flowers. Then, there are these darling Suzani hearts – amongst other new items.Recently, Becky started designing something special for all the fashionable dogs out there – including my Lucy, Micki, and nephew-dog Tucker: Fortuny dog collars!!! YES!!! I was beyond thrilled to open a package with three darling collars – made out of three different Fortuny patterns – and they fit fabulously, by the way.(ok, I’m biased – but doesn’t Micki in the middle have the cutest face you EVER saw???)The small sized collars. They come in gold and silver hardware – and the buckle is so substantial!! That’s my favorite part of the collars. The medium sized collars. See BViz’s web site for all size information, including collars for large dogs. And what to do with leftover Fortuny fabric borders? Make leashes of course! These very well made collars and leashes are available on the BViz web site HERE AND at Indulge in Houston HERE. Call either Becky at BViz (318-766-4950) or Cynthia at Indulge (713 888-0181) to color coordinate your collars and leashes with your dog’s coat. Sooooo cute!!!!!!And, a huge thank you to Becky – as always!!AND in more design news – In case you were wondering where the fab antique store Skelton+St. John moved to – here are the deets:The shop is now located at:3637 W. Alabama between Timmons and Edloe in the heart of the new, trendy, hot, hot, hot design area near Chateau Domingue, Indulge, Tiny Boxwoods, Twentysix Twenty, Vieux, Brown, Found, Gray Door, Krispen - (did I leave anyone out!)The hours at Skelton+St. John are:Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm andSat, 11am-5pmPhone: 713-524-1990Here are a few photos from the fabulous new shop:Loving this all!Actually – I love everything in this picture – the lamps! The table is fabulous!! But – that chandelier – is – to – DIE - for!!!!To see more of their inventory – please take the time to peruse their 1st Dibs shop HERE. Gorgeous, gorgeous antiques. ReplyDeleteThanks for posting, Enjoy this tour a lot!
Oh my gosh - how adorable!! LOVE the BViz dog collars and leashes! Only thing… I would be afraid of my dogs getting dirty and ruining their collars!

I saw BViz was designing collars and leashes, so cool! My design bucket list is to own one of her pillows! She is an amazing woman. I had been seeing her home and work for years but it all clicked when I started reading your blog. Loved the Garden & Gun feature on her. Sarah
ReplyDeleteLOVE BViz, both the company and the woman! I have one of her collars for my Connor, and I have two of the little Christmas stockings. They are all fabulous!

Someday I'm going to get there and shop that entire district! For now I better save, save, save my pennies. Love every single thing in their shop. xoxo

Those collars are adorable but unfortunately not fit for a crazy dog like Beau! I don't think they would tolerate the chlorine very well!
ReplyDeleteLove Becky and the Vizard fam! I wish there was more representation here in Houston but her things are everywhere in Nola! I went to college with her daughter who is as sweet as can be. The article in Garden & Gun featured their beautiful home in LA. Creative and infectious people!!
ReplyDeleteLoving your blog, Joni! xx Olivia
It's all so beautiful, especially the pups!
ReplyDeleteI love it when a design mag has the owner's dog in the pics as they often do lately.

ReplyDeleteI love all of her pillows and also have two collars for my jack russell terriers! I had a grand time visiting with Becky in her home on Lake Bruin last year and writing about her for my blog. She is fantastic! Great post!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun today. I can get over the collars and leashes! And that table. I am dying for it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday,

Thank you Joni! And I so appreciate these lovely comments! I might mention, my adorable Lucille swims in the lake every day with her Corone Fortuny. It comes out clean every time…no matter how many puddles she's romped through. I also recommend washing them in the top rack of your dishwasher. The durability of Fortuny Fabric is truly amazing! And talk about a Haute Dog!!!
ReplyDeleteThe collars are really nice and your sweet pups are so cute. Aren't Cavaliers the best? I have 2 myself, a brother and sister pair, both are black and tan and adopted from Cavalier Rescue. I also foster for this breed specific rescue organization. Next time please consider rescuing a little Cavalier! Here's the site: http://www.cavalierrescueusa.org
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Sarah
I am in love with your fur babies!!! And how fabulous are those collars?

ReplyDeleteHi Joni, thanks for sharing your fabulous finds! They are so lovely. But I must say that the ones that caught my heart are your fur babies! They remind me of the dogs that I used to play with in our ranch. Will look forward to your future posts. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!! and Omg to every room you share!! I love your daughter's room most!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pillows, precious puppies! I have a question for you on some other pillows. Would you share some info about the white pillows with the gold tape/trim in your library? I want to have some made lfor my living but can't seem to find good tape anywhere. Thanks
ReplyDeleteLove them all :)

I've always loved her cushions. I think this is where the trend for small velvet cushions began.
