In the spirit of the season – we have a second giveaway just in time for Christmas!

New_Cote_Ad_210_x_210 (4)_thumb[5]

Today Cote de Texas is welcoming back a favorite, long-time sponsor – VERO LINENS. To celebrate, Vero Linens has graciously offered to host a generous giveaway!

Vero Linens sells luxurious Italian linens at discounted prices.  By cutting out the middle man, they can offer the consumer savings of up to 40% off retail prices.

Vero is the only provider of luxury Italian linens able to offer these bedding collections at wholesale prices.  In contrast, other luxury linen collections are marked-up 200-300% at retail boutiques.  Offered online – Vero’s large savings is passed onto the customer – you!

I own a set of these sheets and I can attest that they are beyond wonderful.  I’m so excited to have Vero Linens as a sponsor because their product is excellent and their low price is enticing – what a fabulous combination!

Vero’s linens come in three colors.

On its web site, Vero Linens has included a number of “How To Tips” that explain their product, including how to care for fine Italian bedding, and what does the famous “thread count” really mean!!  Look for the list of the “How To Tips” HERE.

Vero Linens come in your choice of plain or striped.  Also, notice all the linens are beautifully hemstitched.

  15. Watch the video on how he put his duvet inside the cover. I actually stopped using a duvet because I got sick of stuffing it. Perhaps that will make me go back to it. The sheets look wonderful. I've long been aware that thread count is not what it's all about, so it's nice to have a manufacturer that realizes true quality. Chiros1956 at yahoo dot com

  17. Now I know why my pillow shams look so sad! The video on "Different Types of Pillow Fillings" demonstrated the superior filling of a natural feather pillow. And Vero's price for a Euro feather pillow is the similar to what I paid for a polyester fill pillow. I'm going to use the discount to switch all my standard and Euro shams to feather pillows. Thank you!!!

  34. I read the "Thread Count - what it means and doesn't mean" Tip and it was interesting. I can understand how quality of cotton is more important than thread count, though I'm still curious as to what makes good cotton, and whether the best cotton is only Egyptian, whatever that means. Like several others here, I also liked the wrinkles tip :) I wonder if it will work with dress shirts? I've often put tension on while hanging them to reduce wrinkles, I better try with water too!

  44. Learned a little more reading about how to understand the thread count; the thread counts and the length and quality of the cotton fiber are what matters. It's more than just the number. I love Egyptian Cotton. I have kitties, and if I buy cheaper sheets- they get little pinpricks and pills almost immediately. I also love the softness and thickness or the Vero sheets.

  45. You won't believe it. But I love to iron! So I was happy to read this: Ironing is the best way to get wrinkles out, not only do the bed linens look great but the ironing also makes the fabric feel better as the hot iron lays the nap of the fabric down, so, that it feels even nicer against your skin.

  80. Oh I never win anything, but I guess it's worth another try! I absolutely LOVE the Righetta Stripe Sheets, and of course in white. I love our bed and bought new white "high count" sheets for the bed. However, when unwrapping them I noticed a wrinkle right in the middle of the top seam that shows when it's folded over the blanket or duvet. I assumed it would wash out or iron out, but 2 years later and many washings, ironings l later...it is still there! I hate the wrinkle. It drives me crazy and isn't worth looking at one more day! And I've tried the spray bottle technique in your How to tips, but this is a permanent wrinkle. Now, here's a great story. I lived in Memphis and worked for the largest cotton merchant in the world! Very dynamic man who knew everything about the cotton business and made a fortune growing, shipping, selling it to the mills, and trading it on the cotton exchange. He made history in the cotton business by making the first sale of cotton to mainland China. We had a "cotton room" in the back where tons of samples came in to be graded. I know there are many different grades and types of cotton...one of our best was out of Arizona....Pima and Supima cotton. However, I listened to Steve's video on "thread count" and NEVER knew that thread count meant very little as to the quality of sheets! I love this company and will bookmark it just in case I don't win the giveaway :( However, if I do, I would love a set of King sheets in white of any style they sell! Thanks Joni for a great Christmas holiday giveaway!!! judy_gurney@hotmail.com

  106. I love that Vero Linens has this info on their website! Why doesn't everybody do this?? When my kids were little I learned a lot about best laundry practices from the Hannah Andersen website. Who knew I was using too much detergent? I went straight to HOW TO Down Comforters & Pillows. Living in Brooklyn, NY I have a small stackable washer/dryer so I take my comforters to the laundromat but I did not know I should be adding a bit of bleach to kill dust mites (thank you for that!). Of course this was my favorite tip: Okay, now grab yourself a large glass of wine, let the washer do it’s thing and go make some new friends with some of the “regulars”.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I read about thread counts. As thread counts have risen from 200 into the thousands over the years I have wondered why I can't tell much difference. Most thread counts feel soft in the store probably because of fabric softeners applied by the manufacturers. Now I know the thread count is not that significant and the quality will be evident over time in the quality and durability of the cotton.

  129. I have just moved into a new home and I need to replace my bed linens. I read Bedroom Decorating Mistakes. The best advice was to choose a colour that makes your bedroom and relaxing place to be. I have always tried to make my bedroom a place that feels good, a Sanctuary as they said. These look like amazing sheets. I have always loved white sheets. What a wonderful giveaway at Christmas time. Thank you.

  142. Ohio I love the sheets! I took a look at how to get rid of wrinkles without ironing to see how close my method is to theirs and it's pretty much the same except I don't spritz after the sheets have been put on the bed so that's interesting. It would be so great to win something this week. It's been a really tough one. Totaled the car on Thursday, job cancelled on Friday, computer hard drive crashed on Saturday. But here's the thing, I'm OK, the guy I hit is OK, I have people who love me sometimes showing up for me, I live in a lovely apartment and I'm not homeless on the streets as so many others are these days. As for Christmas money, I'll just focus on other things this year. I've decided to go do some volunteer work somewhere, anywhere. So, sheets would be great, but I keep in mind that a bed would be great for a lot of people these days. Happy happy Christmas Joni. I hope it is lovely for you and your family.

  159. Hi Joni, Thanks for another wonderful give-a-way! It was really interesting to read many of these tips -- What a great resource about sheets. I guess the most interesting tip, (to me) was about the benefits of sleeping naked. I've had intense chronic health issues for 13 years and since I've been ill I haven't been able to fall asleep if I'm wearing a night gown or pajamas, so it was interesting to read that one's cortisol levels drop if you sleep in the nude. I would love to own a king sized set of the Reghetta white striped sheets -- they look so beautiful! Thanks again!

  175. Excellent product and information! Thank-you for the guidance and for the opportunity to win Luxury!! Years ago, when I considered how much time we spend in bed during our lifetime, I decided to make my bed as comfortable as possible within my budgetI learned a lot on the How to Wash Down Pillows. In the past, I have used my front loader but will now take them to the laundromat to use the larger washers, dryers and spinners. It has been laborious for me to wash them at home. Now that I have read the reasoning behind using bleach, I will definitely begin doing that! I will also add wine to the process!! How to Wash instructed us to use warm or cold water instead of hot. I have always used hot water to sanitize but now realize that I need to scale the temperature back. The How to Make a Perfect Bed was my favorite because I've never seen a man make a bed like that!! Is he available to come and teach my husband? LOL! I followed his directions when I prepared my daughters bed when she arrived home from college this week -- she loved it! Since reading this a few days ago, I have thought about how much I would love being enveloped in this luxury at night and do appreciate the opportunity!! xoxoxo
