This week, it’s Linda, Megan, and me – talking about opportunity knocking on our doors from blogging and social networking in general. It’s amazing how in tune with social networking the younger generation is – but baby boomers are very slow to the party. After you listen to the Skirted Roundtable – watch this You Tube video (below) on Social Networking – it’s fascinating and a little scary. If you didn’t believe in the power of Twitter, blogging, and Facebook – you will after you watch it.

Thanks for sharing this Joni! Clearly things have changed. We boomers better catch up fast. I am finding it requires a substantial time commitment. Streamlining my efforts will be essential as I learn more!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I can think of several companies that need to realize this!!!!!!!Very interesting! Maryanne:)
ReplyDeleteJoni, at least as bloggers we are in the conversation! Maurie@graciousinteriors.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this. Its so interesting.. our world is changing so fast, and its important to understand how to integrate yourself into all of this new technology. Its also important to figure out ways to let these technologies be for the betterment of the world (such as is the case with so many lovely bloggers) vs. letting technology take over our lives and lose our humanity. Anyway, its an exciting time to be alive.
ReplyDeleteAfter the launch of my site, I took it upon myself to do a blog and with the help of other amazing bloggers, I have been keeping a blog for over nearly 2 years and am learning about face-book, twitter and more each day. I feel vibrant, connected and my work is known worldwide. I love how social media connects us all.
ReplyDeleteFacebook began by a local guy who attended the same High School that my sons attend!

Hi Miss Joni,
ReplyDeleteI gave you a little shout out on my blog today. I posted about a design project that I did involving one of our favorite tables/designers.
Come on by to find out who. I hope you will leave inspired.
That video was the motivation that I needed to work my facebook page...but it is scary. Not once was personal accountability or responsibility for content mentioned. How does one fact check rumors? It would seem that not only tremendous good, but also tremendous harm can occur. Well, I'm going over to the SRT for some more information-my tech guy has been pushing me to learn more (had this conversation just last night). Thanks.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting video...
ReplyDeleteJust love your blog! Always give me alot of inspiration!
Have great weekend!

ReplyDeleteThat video is mind boggling yet completely believable. It's shocking to see how quickly different media outlets appear and everyone seems in the loop with the snap of a finger.
